Refund Policy

This policy describes when and how Bidly issues refunds for paid subscriptions and other charges paid to Bidly. Bidly is operated by SpaceCode Studios from Pretoria, South Africa. By purchasing a subscription you agree to this policy together with our Terms & Conditions.
1. What this policy covers
This policy covers fees paid directly to Bidly, for example subscription plans and platform features. It does not cover payments made by a client to a contractor for the underlying construction or service work. Bidly is a marketplace that introduces clients and contractors — we are not party to the contract between them and we do not hold or escrow project funds. Disputes about project work, quality or payment must be resolved between the client and the contractor.
2. Cooling-off period
Where the South African Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (CPA) applies, you may cancel a newly-purchased subscription within seven (7) calendar days of the purchase date and request a refund, provided you have not made material use of the paid features during that period. To exercise this right, email sales@spacecodestudios.com from the email address on your account.
3. Recurring subscriptions
After the cooling-off period:
- You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period and will not auto-renew thereafter.
- We do not pro-rate refunds for unused portions of a billing period that has already started, except where required by law.
- If a renewal charge was processed in error (for example, a duplicate charge or a charge after a confirmed cancellation), we will refund the affected amount in full.
4. Refunds at our discretion
In addition to the rights above, we may issue a full or partial refund where a paid feature was materially unavailable for an extended period due to a Bidly outage, or where billing information was processed incorrectly on our side. Requests are reviewed case by case.
5. Non-refundable items
- Subscription periods that have already elapsed and were used to access paid features.
- Fees charged by third-party payment processors (we will refund only what we actually received).
- Charges disputed only because a client did not win a project, a contractor did not win a bid, or expected outcomes from using the marketplace did not materialise.
6. How to request a refund
Send an email to sales@spacecodestudios.com from the email address on your Bidly account. Please include:
- Your account email and the subscription or plan name.
- The approximate date of the charge.
- A short explanation of why you are requesting a refund.
We aim to respond within five (5) business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method and typically reflect within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
7. Chargebacks
Please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank — in most cases we can resolve the issue faster directly. Fraudulent chargebacks may result in suspension of the related account.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated to active subscribers by email.
